Why Is Spirituality Important For Recovery
For those who are pursuing recovery, including a focus on the spiritual walk can be a challenge. Some do not identify as religious. Others feel they have been harmed by religion. Still others feel a tremendous amount of guilt and conflict, and do not know where to turn to address their doubts, questions, and concerns. Many people have experienced great healing in recovery but have yet to address the spiritual side of their lives.
“In the wilderness… a highway will be there. It will be called the way of holiness. It will be for those who walk on that Way… The redeemed will walk there and those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter… with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them and sorrow and sighing will flee away.” (Is 35:8-10)
